Physicians at Chicago-based McGaw Medical Center are working over 80 hours per week while collecting inadequate compensation, organizers said.

The nation’s largest healthcare corporation has made an offer for the Corvallis Clinic in Oregon, which has 11 locations across the state's Willamette Valley. 

ACR expects the House and Senate to address this issue when lawmakers debate the Continuing Resolution set to expire Jan. 19.

The agency received “considerable interest” in a comment solicitation on this topic, with respondents providing “various insights and potential policy changes.” 

Both sides recently held a bargaining session, with Kaiser labeling the union’s request as “frankly, not reasonable." 

Physician advocacy groups including the RBMA, ASTRO, MGMA and AMA criticized the final rule, with the latter calling it a "recipe for financial instability." 

Experts believe the data underline the need for reform, granting radiologists RVUs for this work and hiring more physicians to help ease the burden.
