Industry advocates such as RSNA and the American College of Radiology are concerned about recent reports of consumers putting off imaging amid fears of contracting COVID-19. 

The ACR—along with seven other radiology organizations—said thousands could die due to delayed diagnoses caused by the pandemic and urged governors to take action.

Radiologists and rad techs have been hit hard by the pandemic and need help in maintaining their arsenal of diagnostic tools, the American College of Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and others wrote recently.  

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists criticized the new policy for failing to include its members along with radiation therapists. 

The society announced a new president and president-elect to lead its member technologists during its virtual meeting.

Researchers monitored how the heart and kidneys responded one day, three days, seven days and six weeks following an induced myocardial infarction. 

The organization also announced its incoming president-elect and vice president-elect.

The American Heart Association noted that the Affordable Care Act has provided “invaluable patient protections for millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions.”
