In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, leaders in the radiology community are speaking out and publicly denouncing the aggressions. 

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is warning U.S. hospitals about possible cyber attacks from Russia on U.S. healthcare IT systems due to rising tensions over the war in Ukraine.

Nearly 100 professional healthcare societies have asked Congress to include them in any discussions related to Medicare reform. 

Multiple cardiology societies, including the ACC, ASE and SCAI, want to work with Congress to update Medicare payment policies. 

Such ratings provide critical feedback for improving performance and an opportunity to communicate imaging’s overall role in patient care, researchers detailed in the American Journal of Roentgenology. 

William Northway Jr., MD, is credited for discovering bronchopulmonary dysplasia on the chest x-rays of premature infants. His research also led to the condition's treatment.

Numerous medical imaging societies, including the ACR, signed onto a letter dated Feb. 25 that was sent to members of Congress requesting collaboration on reforms to the Medicare physician payment system.

Radiologists praised the ruling while AHIP, the nation's largest health insurance lobbying group, called it "misguided."
