However, radiology dropped to 18th on the list of specialists when asked how they feel about their profession’s long-term future, according to new survey data from Medscape.
“From an operational perspective, these findings have implications for staffing and resource planning in emergency radiology departments serving high-tourism regions."
“Providing clear guidance on when to order thyroid ultrasounds can help reduce unnecessary healthcare utilization and potential overtreatment," experts wrote.
“We write to emphasize the urgent need for Congress to take action," the Medical Group Management Association wrote to House and Senate leaders Dec. 19.
The survey of 18,719 academics also explored reasons why physicians might intend to leave a job, with burnout and lack of professional fulfillment both leading the way.
