Analysts said the decision reflects increasing risk for RP, which faces forthcoming debt maturities and the chance it may need to execute a distressed exchange. 

The rapidly growing shortage of radiologists and technologists was by far the biggest concern discussed across the Radiological Society of North America meeting.

Under terms of the deal, lender Stonepeak will swap some $470 million in debt for ownership in the reorganized business.
