Researchers with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center believe their study provides important information for institutions seeking to address physician burnout. 

“Radiologists should acknowledge and accommodate these preferences to optimize patient satisfaction," researchers wrote in Academic Radiology. 

The finding suggests that healthcare consumers desire greater detail in the reports, allowing them to seek further info about diseases or findings.

“Physicians everywhere—across every state and specialty—continue to carry tremendous burdens that have us frustrated, burned out, abandoning hope," said AMA President Jesse Ehrenfeld. 

“As radiology strives to lessen staff call burden, generalist triage can sustain clinical service levels and reduce at-home call burnout,” experts wrote in JACR.
