When Taylor Swift speaks, the world listens. And when she recently appeared on a podcast for the very first time, she shared the story of how a nuclear stress test saved her father's life.

The Class I recall includes more than 26,000 vascular stents from Boston Scientific. These devices have been linked to a risk of potential resistance when the stent delivery system is being withdrawn. 

“We believe that any iatrogenic complication should be reported,” the study's authors wrote. “No patient expects to be discharged from hospital with a new diaphragmatic deficit without being informed."

When used during surgery, it can help providers identify cancerous lesions that are not in their immediate vision. 

Two lots of IV solution bags from the company were found to contain particulate matter that could cause blockages in blood vessels, killing a patient. To date, no serious adverse events have been reported.

"This important study will evaluate the potential benefits of the AGENT DCB for patients with certain anatomical features in de novo coronary lesions, where the avoidance of stents is preferable to help circumvent potential complications,” said Janar Sathananthan, MD, chief medical officer, interventional cardiology therapies, Boston Scientific.
