The American College of Radiology praised the hearing as a potential first step to address inadequate reimbursement levels under the federal payment program.

UnitedHealth recently announced plans to purchase Steward Medical Group, a multispecialty radiology provider that spans nine states, after private equity owners left it financially hamstrung. 

The recall is due to ongoing concerns about the devices breaking. Three patients have been injured as a result of this issue.

In 2021, there were only nine available MIPS measures for diagnostic radiology versus 65 in family medicine, Neiman Health Policy Institute experts report. 

Researchers explored data from nearly 70,000 patients, sharing their findings in the American Journal of Cardiology.

This recall is due to reports of “increased resistance” when using the devices. There have been 194 customer complaints about the issue so far. 

Findings are based on an analysis of 135 teleradiology malpractice cases and 3,474 more in regular radiology, conducted by Harvard Medical School and published in Radiology.
