Judging  by a random sample of 138 healthcare executives, nearly every denizen of every hospital or health-system C-suite in the U.S. believes patient leakage to be a concern requiring immediate attention.

The COVID crisis has swollen the demand for repairs to hospitals’ overworked medical equipment at the same time it has, in effect, shrunken the field of qualified repair workers.

An expected uptick in applications this fall may not actually indicate a growing interest in the specialty, imaging experts cautioned.

Radiologists self-reported one of the highest “physician task load” scores of any specialty, experts wrote in the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. 

The company’s work with Anthem-affiliated health plans, in particular, is expected to prosper as a result of this additional funding.

Non-radiology news outlets also covered topics related to last year's RSNA meeting, indicating such organizations are taking notice of imaging-based research.

All told, the feds have doled out $106 billion in payments to smooth over cash flow issues as imaging and other patient volume dried up in March.
