The investor-owned, Los Angeles-based giant said it’s also seeing imaging volumes rebound in many of its core markets.

A group consisting of 140 scientists and physicians has spoken out against a study published in The Lancet that found an association between the use of the drug hydroxychloroquine and a higher death rate among COVID-19 patients.

The Radiological Society of North America was one of the first in the field to speak out on the protests and George Floyd’s murder.

"The unjust treatment of people of color must stop," the Radiological Society of North America said in a recent tweet. 

“We are hearing significant and growing concern from our member physicians that they cannot secure needed supplies to safely reopen," said James Madara, MD, chief executive of the American Medical Association. 

The “Coronavirus Provider Protection Act” would shield physicians, nurses and others who have made “good faith” attempts to care for their community in recent months.

As radiology practices across the country look to reopen and begin working through the massive backlog of delayed care, patient outreach is a critical piece of the puzzle, experts say.
