Boston Medical Center has sought to have patients self-identify for lung cancer screening, administering multilingual surveys while they wait for imaging appointments. 

Founded in 1969, Radiology Chartered employs 15 physicians, handling over 400,000 procedures per year and serving the Emplify Health hospital system. 

As organizations turn to external services for help, it is becoming increasingly important for leaders to evaluate how this practice impacts patient care and the bottom line. 

This practice ensures patients undergo imaging that is appropriate for their clinical indication and reduces the likelihood of unnecessary exams being completed.

The health tech company announced the news Thursday, noting that the platform should help facilities address the growing demand for imaging.

The top 25% of busiest radiologists have read about 31% more studies since 2018 and work nearly 20% more clinical shifts per quarter, compared to seven years ago.

An impending policy change from UHC could cause providers to jump through additional hoops to receive payment for some imaging-related services. 

Spring View Hospital, Lebanon, is teaming with RP effective Dec. 11, with the practice providing both on-site and remote radiology services.
