These radiology resident-led interactions improve patient care, image ordering and relationships with other providers, experts wrote recently in Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology.

"The unjust treatment of people of color must stop," the Radiological Society of North America said in a recent tweet. 

“We are hearing significant and growing concern from our member physicians that they cannot secure needed supplies to safely reopen," said James Madara, MD, chief executive of the American Medical Association. 

The Virginia Board of Medicine labeled Michael Bigg “incompetent to practice medicine and surgery" in its 61-page report issued earlier this month.

The Nashville-based physician firm said such visits have occurred across 34 states and in hospitals, offices, urgent care clinics and post-acute settings. 

In just a few short months, Beaumont Health system has delayed about 9,500 imaging exams, along with thousands more procedures. 

Much of the drop is due to radiologists forgoing abdominal radiography, gastrointestinal fluoroscopy, and nuclear imaging, experts reported Tuesday.

Radiology trainees and attendings found relocating workspaces into reading "pods" overwhelmingly positive, and some aspects may be in place for the long-term.
