The Virginia Board of Medicine labeled Michael Bigg “incompetent to practice medicine and surgery" in its 61-page report issued earlier this month.

The Nashville-based physician firm said such visits have occurred across 34 states and in hospitals, offices, urgent care clinics and post-acute settings. 

In just a few short months, Beaumont Health system has delayed about 9,500 imaging exams, along with thousands more procedures. 

Much of the drop is due to radiologists forgoing abdominal radiography, gastrointestinal fluoroscopy, and nuclear imaging, experts reported Tuesday.

Radiology trainees and attendings found relocating workspaces into reading "pods" overwhelmingly positive, and some aspects may be in place for the long-term.

Los Angeles County hospital leaders have dubbed the initiative as “Better Together Health,” with radio and TV commercials using tag lines such as “Life may be on pause. Your health isn’t,” and “Get care when you need it.”

A majority of research has been focused on subspecialists, but generalists are key to facilitating patient access to a number of radiology subspecialities.

Novant Health UVA Health System recently announced the resumption of such care at its medical centers in the communities of Manassas and Haymarket.
