An organization founded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan has dedicated more than $1 million to an international coalition of imaging centers and their mission to advance health knowledge.

GYANT, a San Francisco-based healthcare technology company, has launched an expanded partnership with Cleveland Clinic aimed at improving patient communication.

Della Gallegos had brain scans completed in 2006, but a radiologist did not spot her tumor at the time. Years later, the patient sued her legal representation after he failed to file a lawsuit against the the imaging expert in a timely manner. 

Berlin-based CV tech company Biotronik has hired cardiologist David Hayes, MD, as its first chief medical officer, the company announced Jan. 27.

Steven Hughes, MD, was compelled to testify, helping prove that Della Gallegos could have won the case, had her attorney filed it in a timely manner. 

Most cardiologists have been implicated in a malpractice lawsuit, according to Medscape’s annual Cardiologist Malpractice Report, and in many cases the litigation causes them to stop trusting their patients.

Hg Capital has invested about $1 billion in the healthcare technology sector to date, including the Montreal, Quebec, imaging software provider.

Oxipit, a Lithuania-based medical imaging solutions manufacturer, and Healthcare Konnect, a Swiss distribution company, have announced a new partnership focused on delivering AI imaging solutions to Nigeria.
