American Hospital Association Director of Health Policy and Analytics Bharath Krishnamurthy explains how drug shortages and supply chain issues are negatively impacting U.S. healthcare.

Apixaban, empagliflozin, rivaroxaban and sacubitril/valsartan are just some of the medications included in this initial round of Medicare price negotiations. Their new prices were reduced by 56%, 66%, 62% and 53%, respectively. 

MD Ally has now earned a total of $25M and has contracts in Arizona, Florida and Texas, working with emergency and social services to customize care for patients.

The move will save the Medicare $6 billion in just one year, an announcement from the Biden administration said.

Founded in 2016, the company employs over 200 radiologists, providing remote reads across multiple countries. 

Jupiter Endovascular, a new subsidiary of Neptune Medical, aims to "bring the precision and control of direct surgical access to catheter-based interventions.”  

The findings are based on a survey of over 1,000 radiologists, technologists and other care providers, detailed Wednesday in JAMA Network Open. 

Such policies "shouldn’t be used as a cost-control mechanism, or as a way to delay or deny appropriate care," the health plan's CEO said.
