Pamela K. Woodard, MD, has been named the inaugural Hugh Monroe Wilson Professor of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis for her accomplishments in cardiovascular imaging and research.

Educating radiologists on ACR-recommended follow-up for incidental adnexal lesions and incorporating such guidelines into normal workflow significantly improved the rate of adherence, reported authors of a Feb. 26 study published in the American Journal of Roentgenology.

An ongoing FDA investigation of generic angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) drugs used to treat hypertension and heart failure found higher-than-acceptable levels of the carcinogen N-Nitroso-N-methyl-4-aminobutyric acid (NMBA) in recent batches of losartan potassium tablets, prompting a voluntary recall of 87 lots, the agency announced March 1. NMBA is the third different carcinogenic impurity recently discovered in ARBs.
