ACC names Richard Kovacs chief medical adviser, chief medical officer

Collaborators from a number of international centers, led by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory-European Bioinformatics Institute, published their findings Wednesday in Nature. Using MRI scans, along with morphology and genetic data, they showed that this network of heart muscle fibers—known as the trabeculae—can influence the heart’s performance.

Heart failure patients benefit from rehabilitation intervention

Large peridevice leaks after left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) are incredibly rare and not associated with a greater risk of adverse outcomes, according to new research published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology.[1] Smaller residual links are more common, however, and associated with a risk of thromboembolic and bleeding events.
