The acquisition of Talis Clinical may add cloud-based health IT data integration and remote user interfaces for the Getinge/Maquet Cardiohelp extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) system.
Getinge announced its planned to acquire 100% of the equity interest in Talis Clinical, which provides high-acuity IT software applications for critical care, cardiac surgery/perfusion and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
While 96% of the population is located within 60 minutes of an ED with any acute stroke expertise, many smaller, critical access hospitals in rural regions still are without these lifesaving services.
“In the end, no matter how smart the machines are with their algorithms and mysterious black boxes, they are no match for human virtue when it comes to preserving patient trust and the survival of the profession,” one expert said in AJR.
Such scans determined the final diagnosis in 54% of patients and were more accurate than CRP and WBC levels for identifying fever origin, according to research published in Scientific Reports.
