Senate Report: UnitedHealth was aggressive in seeking higher Medicare Advantage payments

The Wall Street Journal obtained a copy of a report from the Senate Judiciary Committee, which reviewed more than 50,000 documents sent by UnitedHealth related to its Medicare Advantage patients. The outlet published the findings of the inquiry.

Same-day discharge after PCI for NSTE-ACS is on the rise

Sunil Rao, MD, MSCAI, director, interventional cardiology, cardiac catheterization laboratory, NYU Langone Heart, professor, Department of Medicine, the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, explains the prevalence, trends and predictors of same day discharge after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) data for non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) in clinical practice from the NCDR-CathPCI Registry.

Sunil Rao, MD, told Cardiovascular Business that same-day discharge is still relatively rare for these patients, but it appears to be growing more common over time. The COVID-19 pandemic appears to have played a key role in the development of this trend.

FDA clears Medtronic’s new smart diabetes management app

Medtronic has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for the MiniMed Go Smart Multiple Daily Injection system.

Medtronic's MiniMed Go technology was designed to deliver real-time health data and recommendations to patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It works with the Instinct sensors designed by Abbott.

‘Mental clarity’ supplement recalled due to risk of cardiovascular events, suicidal thoughts

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Modern Warrior is recalling all lots of its Modern Warrior Ready capsules, a dietary supplement marketed as a way to boost metabolism, improve brain function and reduce cravings.

This product was distributed throughout the United States from April 2022 to December 2025. Customers have been warned to stop taking it immediately.
