The nonprofit health system said the new tool has been in development since 2024 and is currently being used by thousands of nurses at its hospitals. The generative AI pulls information from disparate systems into one place, including patient records and care protocols. 

The defendants include operators and staff at nursing schools that were shut down over accusations they provided pay-for-play degrees that RNs and LPNs used to obtain licenses. 

Though this finding is relatively uncommon, it is expected that the BI-RADS 6th edition ultrasound lexicon will include it as a feature associated with malignancy.
