NightShift Radiology Ceases Final Reads to Reinforce Commitment to Community-Based Radiologists

(SAN FRANCISCO and CHICAGO) – Dec. 2, 2013 – NightShift Radiology, a national, on-call teleradiology provider, today announced that it will focus solely on preliminary reads to strengthen its position with customers as a long-term partner, not a competitor. This move sharply contrasts with other national teleradiology providers that conduct final reads and aggressively pursue market share of existing radiology practices.

“We believe the reputation of the teleradiology industry is being tarnished by large national companies who might be more interested in supplanting customers rather than supporting them,” said Dr. Eric Trefelner, co-founder of NightShift Radiology. “To avoid this perception, we have declared that final reads will no longer be included in our service offering. This move reinforces our commitment to being a trusted partner, never a replacement, by supporting community-based radiologists in delivering exceptional service.”

NightShift Radiology will be exhibiting at the Radiological Society of North America [RSNA] Annual Meeting, Dec. 1 – 6 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The company’s exhibit will showcase its dedication to being a partner to radiology groups and will have experts on hand to share insight about how teleradiology can help their business.

“Selecting a teleradiology partner is an important decision that can have a lasting impact on a practice,” said Dr. Michael G. Myers, co-founder of NightShift Radiology. “Our decision to focus on preliminary reads is a key differentiator in the industry and helps to set us apart. By empowering our customers with the ultimate decision on final reads, we are demonstrating our alignment with their interests.”
