HL7 International launches Conformance Testing Program at HIMSS14, Feb. 25 event to unveil free pilot program for early participants
Ann Arbor, MI, February 24, 2014 – Health Level Seven® (HL7®) International will officially launch a new Conformance Testing Program for HL7 standards Feb. 25. A round table briefing about the program that features HL7 leadership and program partners is set for 12:20-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the HL7 booth (#1265 in Hall A) at the HIMSS14 Conference in Orlando, Fla. The briefing is open to members of the media and conference attendees.
The HL7 Conformance Testing Program leverages the AEGIS Developers Integration Lab (DIL) to provide a platform for ongoing, iterative, 24/7/365 testing against published HL7 specifications. The testing program will make interoperability significantly more efficient for vendors and implementers by reducing interface development time and costs, helping highly interoperable products get to market more quickly and cost-effectively.
The initial launch of this program supports Version 2 Immunization Registries. Participation is free of charge until September 2014.
“This program arises out of our commitment to make interoperability easier,” said HL7 CEO Charles Jaffe, M.D., Ph.D. “We feel that conformance testing benefits the entire healthcare community. Vendors benefit because testing is more efficient and cost-effective, and participation offers them a major market differentiator. Conformance testing also benefits implementers and end users by delivering products that are more easily implemented in a interoperable system.”
“AEGIS is pleased to leverage the Developers Integration Lab to support HL7’s innovative Conformance Testing Program,” said Mario Hyland, Senior Vice President of AEGIS. “The DIL’s automation and ease of use will help ensure that HL7 conformance testing truly adds value without creating inefficient layers of complexity.”
Presenters at the Feb. 25 event are:
- HL7 CEO Charles Jaffe, M.D., Ph.D.
- HL7 CTO John Quinn
- AEGIS Senior Vice President Mario Hyland
- Pilot program partners/participants
- Healtheway Executive Director Mariann Yeager
- Ms. Yeager will share Healtheway’s successful participation in the program.
